Thanks so much for [the training] yesterday! I sincerely appreciate your guidance and time with me reviewing my flying ability. I admire your expertise and teaching techniques. Your use of the video is an excellent tool for students no matter what level they are learning. The cockpit can be a very busy place and to have the video to review afterwards can bring back those fleeting thoughts/observations one has in the heat of the moment.
I enjoyed watching some of the videos on your CD and reading a few of the docs. I plan to watch a few more tomorrow on my way out to the west coast.
Best regards, fly safely,

Subject: Hello from Thailand
Hello Dick,
… The purpose of the email was to voice my
appreciation (of) the training video’s you have kindly made available on your
website. I have been avidly watching them all, and found them invaluable
in helping to keep me current. Sadly since landing here in Thailand in Late
December, I have been grounded due to the bureaucratic red tape, only Asia is
capable of producing, so your videos are all that is keeping me sane!
I hope to be airborne in the next few weeks.
So, many thanks for taking the trouble to share your
invaluable experience, and take some satisfaction that they are helping an
isolated PA46 pilot half way around the world.
Cheers - E
Thanks
Dick,
Nice to meet you and many thanks for the excellent training you provided Brad.
I look forward to joining you for my training in 6 months or so. I will
settle your account this week.
Best,
Chris Gleeson - Meridian N951TB

I
just completed a two day recurrent training course with Dick Rochfort and
wanted to pass on a very positive experience. For those of you that have worked
with Dick, I am sure I am not telling you anything new. This was my first
recurrent training after completing 6 months in my Mirage and I found it
extremely beneficial in reinforcing what I thought I already had learned, and
bringing out a lot of the finer points that can be missed in the initial
training due to the volume of material you are getting. I have the Avidyne
panel and Dick's knowledge of how the components work together and on setup
strategies was fantastic. If you have not received any follow-on training after
SimCom, you are missing a lot. I recommend him highly and will work with him
again in the future.

Dick,
I want to thank you for spending the time getting David and me up
to speed in the Malibu Mirage.
We thoroughly enjoyed your teaching methods and in particular, we
found that your approach to teaching a "flow" for flight
deck management was particularly good for us. Your ground school and in
flight training is a great deal more effective than the ground school/simulator
approach that I have received from other flight schools. As a result
of your training, I am a more confident, more capable and safer pilot.
Thanks again, Mike Grilli – Malibu Mirage N379P
Dick:
A quick thank
you for a great day last week; I never fail to learn something, and I really
appreciate the level of instruction. I hope you are well, I owe you some drinks
and a dinner.
Best,

Dick,
Thank you for fitting
me into your busy schedule for my first re-current training. As expected, I
continue to learn valuable information from your training schedule. The tools
you have to train with are above any ground base school anyone could
attend. I cannot fathom using any other trainer for Mirage and Meridian
than you and your company. One of your best traits is your great attitude and
willingness to train. You can tell through your attitude that this is your
passion and you are very good!! I hope to see you when I purchase a Meridian.
Thank you,
Jim Hamilton - Malibu Mirage - N561C

I have been a Mirage owner
for 13 months and have very much enjoyed my aircraft. When I first purchased my
Mirage, I had to decide on a type of initial training, Sim based or actual
flight.
Due to my previous training, I choose actual flight training. After many phone
calls, I elected to use Dick Rochfort. This decision was the best decision I
could have made. I recently choose Dick for my first re-current training and
was very pleased with our training.
I am not knocking sim based training, so please do not be offended! But, there
is no training experience as rewarding than flying in the real world
environment. Every aircraft is different and to me, this is why it is SO
important to train in your aircraft in actual conditions.
I am not trying to take anything away from ground base training, but when it
comes to your safety, I highly recommend you train in your aircraft.
I learned a great deal about
MY particular aircraft when I trained with Dick Rochfort. Most of the
information I would have never learned in a sim. Dick's passion for the Piper
aircraft is unmatched and shows in his training schedule. each time I train
with him, I learn more and more valuable information to keep me safe in my
flying.

I used RWR as well. I spend a lot of time flying Malibu's and I
was very thankful he had such an extensive knowledge of the plane. I definitely took some fresh info home with me. I would highly recommend him. www.rwrpilottraining.com

Dick Rochfort gave me my initial
training and has advised me to turn the pitot heat “ON” when taking the runway
and turn it off when clearing the runway. I have formed that habit and it is on
my check list.

Dick:
Thank you again, and I am sure I will continue to
thank you. I thoroughly enjoyed our sessions. …Your techniques have challenged
me to do better, try harder, train more often and fly safer. The good news
about making mistakes and feeling the mistakes is that I tend to remember
those.

Dick:
I've been meaning to call you or email you to
personally thank you for teaching me to fly a Malibu. I have truly
enjoyed your professional and practical methods for learning. I have
enjoyed several hours in the Malibu, comfortably flown ILS and GPS approaches
in the soup. I absolutely love the airplane and its equipment now
that I have gotten more comfortable with the airplane. Look forward to
flying with you soon.

Hello All,
I am a new
member and a new 2000 Mirage owner (N425H). Prior to buying the Mirage I was
Saratoga driver (2000 PA32-301T) and from reading the posts here I see that
that is not an unusual path to the PA46. … I have just finished my initial
training with Richard Rochfort (whom I also found on this forum) and have
logged my ten hours of solo time as required by the insurance company…there is
still much to learn but I am feeling like a safe pilot. I told Richard that I
had the same avionics in my previous plane so I was up to speed in that regard.
He must have laughed; I am sure he has heard that before. He showed me numerous things that I was
either afraid to try in the past or just did not know were possible…..and his
approach to a professional level of flying was inspiring….

“… Based on a couple of recommendations, I asked
Dick Rochfort to do (my training). ( www.rwrpilottraining.com ) I spent night and day with him for 5 days and
then started flying on my own. It was a
great experience. He introduced me to a
whole new method of flying. It was much
more structured and thorough than anything I'd done before. I'm still trying to meet the standards he
introduced.…”

Dick,
I wanted to take a second and personally
thank you for the work you did with Jason and I. Your program is second
to none and overall knowledge of the PA46 (Papa Alpha 46) is incredible.
I am a firm believer that when you are in an instructor environment it is not
always what you know, but how you convey the information, and you obviously
have a firm grasp of how to teach. Thanks once again for your hard work
and let’s stay in touch.

Dick,
I wanted to take
a moment and let you know how much I appreciate the service you provided me
this past January. .. you were very professional and very easy to communicate
with. As you know, we had to reschedule a few times due to the aircraft
awaiting parts for completion of its annual and you were always accommodating.
As we met in California for delivery of the
aircraft you were very professional and very friendly. I was easily put to rest
about who I was training with and looked forward to my initial training. Once
we started our training, I was very pleased with your program and the way we
completed the initial training process. Your professionalism and experience in
this type of aircraft is the best. I had no idea that I would learn so much
about the Piper Mirage and its systems.
During the
initial training, my wife and I enjoyed the experience and friendship built
over the 5 days we spent together. Your company, program and personality are
the best in the industry. ..
Thank you very
much for your great service. I will be back for all of my required training.

Dick,
I just wanted to tell you again how very grateful I
am for your training. You gave me a high
standard to aim at, and I often think about what I can do to get there. The impact of your training has long
outlasted the week we spent together last fall.
Warm regards,

I took training with Dick a couple of months ago. He's one of the new
breed of trainers who is actually able to integrate all the new electronics
into your flying. He's a fine teacher and very well qualified. When you are
done you will have a better checklist and routine for flying your bird. I
recommend him highly.

I have trained with Dick for 8 years. He trained me in a 172, a
Saratoga, my Mirage and finally my Meridian. Dick is a very competent
instructor. He knows the Malibu/Mirage/Meridian aircraft and their systems
extremely well. He is well versed in the regulations and operating procedures.
His airmanship is excellent through you will do all the flying.

I trained with Dick last year for recurrency and he did a fine job. He
clearly knows the plane and systems and the hands-on flight training is very
good. Highly recommend him.

I did my
initial with Dick about 3 months ago, transitioning out of an A-36. I was blown
away by how much he knew about my plane -- not just the PA-46 but also the
KFC-150 AP and my brand new Garmin units. I had both in my Bonanza and wrongly
thought I could make them "sing and dance." After my time with Dick
I'm starting to get them to hum, we'll work on the rest of it during my
recurrent. I'd recommend the guy whole-heartedly. His broad range as a pilot
with an engineering background makes for a darn effective CFI.

I have retained Dick's services over the last few years to receive
training in the PA-32 and PA-46. I also used Dick to obtain my commercial
rating. He is a highly motivated instructor who enjoys flying and teaching. He
knows the airplane, systems and electronics.
I highly recommend Dick and will use him again.

My father-in-law and I had Dick Rochfort for our training. I had the
initial and my father-in-law had the recurrent. He was very knowledgeable on
the Mirage and answered all questions we had concerning the airplane. If for
some reason he did not have the answer right away, he was sure to make a phone
call and find out for us. He was attentive to our needs and timeline and was
available to take our phone calls if we had any questions. I have personally
called him a couple of times once our training was complete to ask a few
questions and he responded to my phone call in a timely manner.

He did my
initial transition to the Mirage from a V35B Bonanza a little over a year ago.
He then did my recurrent training after the MMOPA convention in October.
Besides being a knowledgeable instructor, the thing I really appreciate about
Dick is that he is able to determine what you already have pretty well mastered
and what areas you need to focus on (even though you may THINK you have them
mastered!), and work at a customized pace for you. I have had instructors in
the past who bored me at some times and overwhelmed me at others. Not so with
Dick.
I might also add that his knowledge of systems, including many different types
of avionics, is complemented by his strong knowledge of the engines and the
latest, most up-to-date techniques for safe, efficient operation. Smart guy.
I sent him a thank-you email for his good instruction about a month and
a half after my initial. I had a turbocharger failure in the mid-twenties over
the mountains at night with three passengers, two of which were new to flying.
Good training and a cool head helped me diagnose the problem, take the
appropriate actions, and land safely, without rattling the passengers. Dick's
thorough instruction of systems and emergency training helped me deal with the
whole incident with an appropriate degree of confidence and keep an
out-of-the-ordinary situation for a new Malibu pilot from becoming a bad news
report. The passengers all still fly with me and tell others how well the
memorable night went.

I began with Dick when I purchased a Mirage
transitioning up from a Cessna 182 so was required to fly 250 hours with him,
so I probably have more experience than others. After moving up to a Meridian I
flew again with Dick for another 25+ hours or so.
I emphatically endorse all the good things that were said about Dick. He is
extremely knowledgeable about airplanes, avionics, regulations, etc. But what
sets him apart is his ability to impart savvy advice about handling complicated
practical situations; challenging weather, difficult ATC personnel,
emergencies, etc. His sensible, no-nonsense approaches have proved invaluable
to me and I feel fortunate to have been able to train with him.
Dick is also highly professional, on-time, organized and prepared.
He is absolutely first class.
