Mad respect to Mr. Rochfort and his professional approach to flight training. Thank you for the book PA46_SOP. Some good information for all pilots of any aircraft

Thanks for posting. You have a great instructing technique. I like some of the simplified callouts too. They’re easy to remember. “What’s next?” will always keep the pilot flying ahead of the situation.

Once again, another great example of high-quality instruction (one CFII to another). Solid process, redundancy, reliance on technology (not dependence), helping with radio work (by example), keeping it safe and simple and knowing the numbers rote. As usual, the lightest touch commands the greatest respect. Well done.

Dear Mr. Lemke,

I have known Richard W. Rochfort (Dick) for approximately twenty years. He was the initial flight instructor assigned to me at the flight school I chose and has served as my flight instructor for each of my subsequent ratings all the way through ATP. In addition, he has provided my initial PA-46 transition training as well as every recurrent training program, including BFR’s and IPC’s I’ve received over the years.

It should be self-evident that I highly value Dick as a flight instructor, if for no other reason than he has mentored me through five ratings. However, to elaborate, his knowledge of all things aviation is astounding, his attention to detail and through preparation for each lesson is unsurpassed, he passed on an immense amount of real world flying experience by placing me in controlled situations that challenged my comfort level, and has always served as my go-to source for any aviation question I’ve ever had.

I don’t believe there is a more dedicated professional flight instructor than Dick. His reputation always seems to proceed him. I can personally attest to knowledge of the high regard with which he is held in the aviation community, both in the US and abroad. Dick has striven for years to help standardize training and instruction techniques and always serves as a role model for flight instructors, and general aviation.

I highly recommend and endorse Dick for renewal of his Master Flight Instructor designation. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Best regards,

Greetings Sir,

Just a quick note to thank you for such an impressive and thorough G1000 training video. As a G1000 instructor as well as systems instructor for the Boeing 737 it is certainly refreshing to see such a high quality training program as the one I just watched. It is very informative and the presentation pace is outstanding. It is obvious your presentation was well thought out and you certainly know your material!

Thanks again and I am pleased to have you a part of the aviation community.

Best,

Dear Dick:

I really appreciate the opportunity to have trained under you for the PA-46 Initial Flight Program. You were a delight to be around and practiced common sense procedures and techniques that can be used on a daily basis. I will work to incorporate your suggestions into my flying habits.

Although I consider myself to be an experienced Pilot, your instruction reminded me of things forgotten, things that I ought to do, and challenges that need to be mastered for Safe Flight.

I appreciate what you are doing to enhance the Safety for all of us who enjoy General Aviation. Your commitment to Safety has to be making a positive difference within the PA-46 fleet. I thoroughly enjoy reading your articles and reviewing your videos on YouTube regarding flight procedures for the PA-46 and your personal flight experiences. They are very informative for all of us.

Please feel free to use me as a reference for future clients. A call from them for a personal recommendation would be welcomed. Fly Safely- Train Often!

Hi Dick,

I just wanted to drop you a line and say thanks for your YouTube videos. I’m in the final stages of earning my instrument rating, and I found your “Six Steps & Three Questions for Getting on the Approach” video hugely helpful.

Your flow checks are definitely becoming part of my everyday flying.

Thanks again,

Dr. Jonathan Wilson 3 weeks ago Linked comment Hi Dick – I appreciate your excellent efforts in promoting flight safety. This video is a great example. For me safe flying is all about sound decision making across a multitude of variables that are in a state of constant flux. That challenge is where the fun is! I appreciated this video as it  presents a changing situation and then a reasoning process that results in sound choices.

Many flying videos contain nothing more than nice pictures and happy music. That is obviously fine for some, but if I am going to use my scarce time watching flying videos I would like to use it to make me a better pilot. And your contributions do exactly that.

Keep up the good work!

Jonathan

This was a really great series. I enjoyed watching it. Your channel nearly replaces my TV 🙂
Hopefully one day I can call you to do the same on my own Meridian. I’m working on that. Thank you for your great Videos an keep up posting them.

Hey Dick,

thank you for your replay. I actually keep watching your videos, have seen most oft them actually over and over again, i like the way you teach and how much effort u put into flying/teaching. Uni and ATPL are working out just fine, finished my bachelor a couple of month ago, right now prepare for the ATPL exam (hopefully) pass all 14 tests in January. Actually quite a few questions to lern (just over 10.000 i think) but we’ll get over it 😉 Always having the goal to fly/own a Meridian one day:)

If you are around EDDG and/or EDVE, have some spare time and feel like meeting up send me a msg. . I always feel like getting to know people from all over the world.

Greetings from freezing Brunswick, Germany,
enjoy flying, take care,
Lars

DICK,

I absolutely love the videos that you have provided.

I was in hopes of flying a Mirage or another turboprop but the guy that I fly for decided not to spend the money.

Your instructions have been great for my SOP. I am studying for my instructor rating currently and this is a big help in several ways.

HIGH REGARDS,
JIM

Hi Dick,

Let me express my most sincere appreciation on the training you provided last week.
I just made it solo on the Mirage from Montreal to Miami today and thanks to your help everything went great.

very well done. I’m an instrument -rated pilot and was flying yesterday in IMC and could have used that tip! I like that your video is straight-forward and to the point.

Hello Dick Rochfort,

Many thanks for providing me the link. I immediately started reading it and “WOW” there were so much to learn. I made lot of IFR flying tips and learned what not to do. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Thanks

Dick- many thanks for honing our skills and awareness during our recent training. Rick and I are very pleased with this better and more controlled landing technique.

Dear Mr. Rochfort,

I just like to say thank your for uploading of your videos on your website and youtube. I’m studying aeronautical engineering at Technische Universität Braunschweig (might have been to the Airport EDVE, where the Luftfahrt Bundesamt is placed, part of what you call FAA in America). At the moment I own a PPL(A) and while studding at university, i do an ATPL home study corse. I love the Meridian and hope i’ll at least be able to fly one in the future or even better possess my own. I actually come from Münster, i think you have been there with a Meridian before (EDDg is the Airport). That’s close to the place i’m mostly flying (EDLT Telgte).

Your are one of these types of instructors i really look for, cause you are confident with what you are doing, you know everything exactly and for me it really looks like you are enjoying teaching people and flying the meridian.
Keep on going, great stuff! Greetings from cold Germany,

Lar
